The board of trustees has petitioned the
Board of Regents to form a corporation to establish and maintain an institution
of continuing education and training for qualified students of psychotherapy
that provides an educational program focused on the philosophical and scientific
foundations of psychoanalysis, the practical application of the established
professional approaches to psychoanalysis, and major philosophical and technical
innovations in psychoanalysis; to facilitate communication about conceptual and
technical issues within the psychoanalytic community through workshops, courses
and other educational means; and to engage in community-oriented mental health
activities such as public education.
The Office of
the Professions recommends
that a provisional charter be granted for a period of five
years.
