historical society. Such provisional charter was extended by Regents action on
July 23, 1985 and July 24, 1987, and amended and made absolute on February 21,
1991. The board of trustees has
applied for an amendment to the absolute charter to add the language necessary to maintain tax-exempt
status under Internal Revenue Code §501(c)(3). The Office of Cultural
Education recommends that the absolute charter be amended
accordingly.

for an order of consolidation of Cambridge Historical Society and Museum and the
Cambridge Historical Society, Inc.
Cambridge Historical Society and Museum has separately petitioned the
Board of Regents for a provisional charter. Cambridge Historical Society, Inc.
was incorporated under §402 of the Membership Corporation Law (MCL) on August
17, 1929. Upon the effective date of the consolidation of Cambridge Historical
Society and Museum and the Cambridge Historical Society, Inc., Cambridge
Historical Society and Museum will assume all the assets, liabilities and
responsibilities of both organizations. The consolidated corporation will
operate under the provisional charter granted to Cambridge Historical Society
and Museum. The Office of Cultural Education recommends that an order of
consolidation of Cambridge Historical Society and Museum and Cambridge
Historical Society, Inc., with the surviving corporation being Cambridge

1996. The board of trustees has applied for an amendment to the absolute charter
to authorize the
corporation to also operate a grade 6 and to specify that “Abe Lord Road,” the street name where
the corporation is located, has been locally changed to “Chapel Hill Road,” with
the campus address now known as 431 Chapel Hill Road, Hancock, New York,

absolute charter was amended on March 17, 1995 to change the corporate name to
“Rabbi Harry Halpern Day School” and to add authority to operate a nursery
school for children 3 to 5 years of age; and further amended on November 3,
1995. The board of trustees has
applied for an amendment to the absolute charter to change the corporate name to
“East Midwood Hebrew Day School.” The Office of Nonpublic School Services
recommends that the absolute charter be amended

opportunity to consent. The Office of Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with
Disabilities (VESID) has also been provided with an opportunity to review this
action and the trustees have been advised that the granting of a provisional
charter does not constitute approval for state funding for the programs and
services under the jurisdiction of VESID. The Office of Nonpublic School
Services recommends that a provisional charter be granted for a period of three
years.

The board of trustees and the board of
directors have petitioned the Board of Regents, pursuant to Education Law §223,
for an order of consolidation of The Gingerbread House Preschool and Child Care
Center and Dorn Day Care Center, Inc. A provisional charter was granted to this
corporation under the corporate name “Sister Patricia Ann Preschool” by action
of the Board of Regents on September 15, 1989. Such corporation was amended by
Regents action to change the corporate name to “Sister Patricia Ann’s
Gingerbread House Preschool” and, as so amended, made absolute on November 19,
1993. The corporation has separately petitioned the Board of Regents for an
amendment to the absolute charter to add authority to also operate day care centers and to change the
corporate name to “The Gingerbread House Preschool and Child Care Center.” Dorn Day Care Center, Inc. was
incorporated under §402 of the Not-For-Profit Corporation Law (NPCL) on January 15, 1986. Upon the effective date of the
consolidation of The Gingerbread House
Preschool and Child Care
Center and Dorn Day Care Center, Inc., The Gingerbread House Preschool and Child
Care Center will assume all the assets, liabilities and responsibilities of both
organizations. The consolidated corporation will operate under the absolute

pursuant to §460-a of the Social Services Law. The Office of Nonpublic School
Services recommends that an order of consolidation of The Gingerbread House
Preschool and Child Care Center and Dorn Day Care Center, Inc., be granted,
forming The Gingerbread House Preschool and Child Care
Center.

A provisional charter was granted to this
corporation by action of the Board of Regents on April 24, 2001 under the name
“The Grace Guardian of the Child” to operate a nursery school, a kindergarten
for 5 year olds, and a grade 1 elementary school. Such provisional charter was
amended to change the corporate name to “The Graceful Guardian of the Child
Montessori School,” to operate a grade 2, and as so amended, extended on
February 23, 2004. The board of trustees has petitioned the Board of Regents for
the dissolution of the charter since the corporation is no longer able to
financially maintain the school due to declining enrollment. All taxes payable
by the corporation have been paid. The Office of Nonpublic School Services
recommends that the provisional charter of The Graceful Guardian of the Child
Montessori School be dissolved and that approval be given to store the student
records with the Monroe-Woodbury Central School
District.

College of the City University of New York. Such absolute charter was amended by
Regents action on May 20, 1994.
The board of
trustees has applied for an amendment to the absolute charter to update the
corporate language in article 2(f) of the charter to specify that the
corporation shall not engage in any activity that requires the approval of any
State board, department, commission, or public officer, or of any society,
association or other organization, or of any officer or officers thereof, unless
and until such approval is obtained. The Office of Higher Education recommends
that the absolute charter be amended accordingly.

A provisional charter was granted to this
corporation by action of the Board of Regents on June 22, 1934 to operate and
maintain a college for higher education under the corporate name “New School for Social
Research.” Such provisional charter
was amended and made absolute by Regents action on January 17, 1941. The absolute charter was further amended
on May 19, 1944, February 28, 1947 and September 24, 1976; which corporation was
consolidated under such name on June 22, 1984 with Parson School of Design. The absolute charter was again amended
on September 20, 1985, July 28, 1989, September 14, 1990 and July 23, 1993. On
September 24, 1993 the corporation
was consolidated with Mannes College of Music; the absolute charter was amended
by Regents action on February 4,
1997 to change the corporate name to “New School University”; and amended June
17, 2003. The board
of Trustees has applied for an amendment to the absolute charter to change the
corporate name to “The New School” and to amend the names of the two academic
divisions of the corporation from “Parsons School of Design” to “Parsons The New
School for Design “ and “Mannes College of Music” to “Mannes College The New
School for Music.” The Office of Higher Education recommends that the absolute
charter be amended accordingly.
