MATTERS NOT REQUIRING BOARD ACTION
Proposed Amendment of Sections 52.21, 57-3.1, 57-3.7, 80-1.2, 80-1.12, 80-3.2, 80-3.7, 80-4.3, 80-4.4m and 200.20 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education Relating to Establishing the Students with Disabilities (All Grades) Certificate, Revising the Registration Requirements for Students with Disabilities (Birth-Grade 2) Programs, and Revising the Requirements for the Extension and Limited Extension to Teach Certain Subjects to Students with Disabilities [HE/P-12 (D) 1] - Department staff presented proposed amendments to the Commissioner’s regulations to establish the Students with Disabilities (SWD) (All Grades) certificate, create registration requirements for programs leading to the proposed certificate, allow candidates to apply for the proposed certificate through the individual evaluation pathway, outline when the current SWD (Grades 1-6) and SWD (Grades 7-12) certificates will no longer be issued and programs leading to the current certificates will no longer be registered, revise the pedagogical core requirement in SWD (Birth-Grade 2) programs, and revise the requirements for the extension and limited extension to teach certain subjects to students with disabilities.
