Report of Regents Professional Practice Committee to The Board of Regents
Your Professional Practice Committee held its scheduled meeting on January 11, 2016. All members were present, except Regents Christine D. Cea and Wade S. Norwood, who were excused. Regent James R. Tallon, Jr., Regent Kathleen M. Cashin, Regent Beverly L. Ouderkirk, and Regent Judith Johnson were also present, but did not vote on any case or action.

Professional Discipline Cases
Your Committee recommends that the reports of the Regents Review Committees, including rulings, findings of fact, determinations as to guilt, and recommendations, by unanimous or majority vote, contained in those reports which have been distributed to you, be accepted in 6 cases. In addition, your Committee recommends, upon the recommendation of the Committee on the Professions, that 34 consent order applications and 16 surrender applications be granted.
In the case of Maria Elizabeth Diute, Registered Professional Nurse, Calendar No. 27134, we recommend that the report of the Regents Review Committee be corrected as follows: the date of the meeting of the Regents Review Committee in this matter shown in the third paragraph on page 5 of such report as “August 23, 2012” be deemed corrected to read the correct meeting date for the Regents Review Committee in this matter of “October 30, 2015”.
These recommendations are made following the review of 56 cases involving fourteen registered professional nurses, twelve licensed practical nurses, four licensed practical nurses who are also registered professional nurses, four pharmacists, two dentists, two massage therapists, two pharmacies, one acupuncturist, one architect, one chiropractor, one clinical laboratory technician, one licensed clinical social worker, one licensed master social worker, one licensed practical nurse who is also a registered professional nurse and a nurse practitioner (Family Health), one physical therapist, one podiatrist, and one professional engineer.
