MOTION FOR ACTION BY FULL BOARD

Your Higher Education Committee recommends, and we move, that the Board of Regents act affirmatively upon each recommendation in the written report of the Committee’s deliberations at its meeting on February 14, 2022, copies of which have been distributed to each member of the Board of Regents.

Matters Not Requiring Board Action:

Proposed Amendment to Sections 52.21 and 80-3.7 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education Relating to the Content Core Requirement in Registered Teacher Preparation Programs and the Individual Evaluation Pathway to Certification for Candidates Who Are Seeking an Additional Science Certificate - Department staff presented proposed regulatory amendments to revise the content core requirement in registered programs and the individual evaluation pathway to certification such that candidates who hold a science certificate or are simultaneously preparing for two or more science certificates during their registered program, would need to complete only 18 semester hours for the content core in the subject area(s) of the additional science certificate(s).

Consent Agenda Items:

Proposed Amendment to Sections 52.21, 57-4.5, and 80-1.13 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education Relating to Removing the Face-to-Face Instruction Requirement for the Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) Training. - The Board of Regents voted to adopt the proposed amendments, as submitted, effective March 2, 2022.

Conferral of Degrees: Glasgow Caledonian New York College - The Board of Regents voted to confer the Master of Science (M.S.) award upon those individuals who have completed the requirements for the registered degree program at Glasgow Caledonian New York College.
